Install Pidgin SVN + Plus! In Ubuntu

Today, a new Launchpad PPA repository was launched which allows Ubuntu users to install Pidgin SVN with support for colored nicknames and several plug-ins.

New features coming with this repository:

• Plus!
• GTalkInvisible
• Microblogging
• Facebookchat
• and others!

A complete list of available plug-ins can be found HERE (after adding the repository, you can install them using apt-get).

To add this repository, run the following commands in a terminal:

sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/frasten/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main" >> /etc/apt/sources.list'
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 7F931814

Then, to install Pidgin SVN and Pidgin Plus!:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && sudo apt-get install pidgin-plus

Please note: if you are using the latest version of Pidgin via GetDeb (either from it's website or using the GetDeb repository, remove that first / remove the repository, then install this version of Pidgin!).
